This post will show you the exact steps to start a beautiful blog that will have you earning money quickly. Before we begin, I hope the reason you want to start a blog is to share your story with the world,I hope you have love for writing and desire to help others. You will not be successful in anything, if the only reason you are doing it, is money. Creating a life that you want begins with doing what you love. Blogging can get stressful at times and you will get through it, if you have a little passion for it. Now that we got that out of the way, let’s start.
Choose your niche
Before you start building your website, decide what is your website going to be about. You will want to pick a niche. A niche is a category, specific area of marketing which interests its own particular group of people. You need to have a target niche so you can attract the right people that are interested in what you have to offer. That can be anything from Sowing, Fashion, Health, Fitness, Particular sport, Travel, Construction to Finance, Lifestyle, Make up, Babies etc.
You just have to find a niche that you are passionate about, have experience in or comfortable writing about. You really want to make sure that you understand your niche and topics that you are going to cover. It is really important that you are passionate about the niche you choose because you will stumble upon some obstacles along the way and if you are not in love with what you are building content on, it will be hard not to quit.
Pick a host
Now that you have chosen your niche, it is time to pick a host for your website.
There are couple of ways you can get a domain name and hosting for your website. You can purchase the two separately or buy them together. I don’t recommend buying them separately because that can get really complicated. For your own sake buy your domain name from your hosting platform.
There are many hosts on the market, but the most popular is BlueHost. BlueHost is cheap, they give you everything you need and their customer support is amazing. They bill yearly, which saves you money instead of being billed monthly. When just starting, you really only need the $3.95 a month option even thought $5.95 gives you much more but either of them will work great!
Another great hosting platform is GoDaddy. Their up time of 99.97% is above average, their page loading speed is great, they offer customer service 24/7, but GoDaddy is infamous for the number of up sells used to increase the price you’re ultimately going to pay.
Choose your domain name
When choosing the name of your blog it is really important that you take time and choose something that you will be proud of years down the line. This is more creative part of the job. If you don’t have any ideas yet, you can always choose your own name, and if that is taken you can incorporate your niche with your name.
Pick a blog design – website theme
The next thing you will need is a blogging platform. The best one by far is WordPress. If you purchased hosting with a domain at BlueHost or GoDaddy, you will be provided with WordPress. If your website is hosted by some other hosting platform you will want to install the WordPress design. WordPress is a website creation tool that lets you build your blog, create pages, and post on your website.
There are some other options besides WordPress that you can use like SquareSpace that is easier to set up but I wouldn’t recommend it because of SEO benefits that you get with WordPress.
Last step is to pick your theme. The theme you choose is what your website is going to look like. You can choose a free theme or you can buy one. Some people think that free themes don’t look as professional but you can customise it so it can look well put together and it can work just fine.
At the end of the day I think what’s really important is good quality content. What your website looks like is the first thing people see but it’s not what keeps them coming back.
If you think you will need some training in building your website you can go to my WelthyAffiliate review here. Wealthy Affiliate is the best training platform out there that provides a website and hosting as well as a worm and supportive community.
The main thing and the fun part in blogging is writing. This is how you do it: You sit down at the keyboard and you put one word after another. You can always edit a bad post, but what you can’t edit is a blank screen.
Just find your voice and share your story with the world because ‘there is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you.’ – Maya Angelou
Just start writing because the only way to be a successful blogger that makes money is to get content out there.
Create constant consistently
Building content consistently is very important, maybe even the most important thing in blogging. You will not see any success if you don’t post consistently. People will not find your blog and you will not make it very far if you don’t create constant often. That can be two times a week or every week or every month or whatever you decide on your posting schedule but it needs to be consistent!
The reason you want to be consistent is to build trust with your audience and because Google likes it! There is this thing called SEO (search engine optimization) and Google uses that to show your blog in search results. Google prefers to show blogs that have quality and consistent constant to users of a web search engine.
So all it is: CONSISTENT CONTENT = HIGHER RANKING IN GOOGLE
How to make your blog a business
Bloggers make their money from affiliates, sponsorship and adds. There is no reason for you not to go and get as many affiliates as you can approved, even if you don’t have any visitors yet.
If you write a post review about any product, the chances are there is an affiliate program for it. When you get approved by the affiliate program that you applied for, they will provide you with the affiliate link which you can include in your blog post and make money by having people clicking on them. Those links can make you money for years to come.
You can also have Google AdSense to place ads on your post. These ads are already paid for by advertisers looking for others to post their ads on your blog.
