SEO (search engine optimization) is a tool that Google uses to show your website in search results. SEO will help you tremendously to rank higher in Google if you know how to use it properly.

In this post I will give you the most important tips on how to optimize your website posts for SEO and the best time to do that is when you are creating your post, but you can always go back and improve your old articles which is even recommended doing from time to time.

SEO is very important because it helps you consistently get more traffic to your website and before we begin you will have to check if you have what it takes. You will have to have a desire to be ranked as high in Google, Yahoo or Bing as possible and the drive to follow all the On-page optimization tactics that I’ll be getting into below.

What Is SEO And How To Improve Your Website SEO Plan

On-page optimization tactics:

Keyword research

Finding the most effective keywords that your website or blog should be optimized for is essential for getting ranked higher in Google, Yahoo or Bing. What you are striving for is to find relevant, high traffic keywords that are less competitive. Doing this research will give you free, high and most importantly organic traffic. You would be surprised how many business, websites and blogs don’t have properly researched keyword titles in place and just how many people don’t know how important this step is.

Use keyword planning tools like SEMRush, KW Finder, Google’s Keyword Planner but the best one in my experience is Jaaxy.

Once you have done your research you will want to utilize your keywords throughout your post. They will have the most impact in your:

  • Title (not more than 7 words),

  • Title tags (don’t use the same ones on other posts or pages)

  • Website description (use keywords naturally to accurately describe what can give find on your page)

  • Keyword tags (include main keywords and separate them with a comma and space, if you have to use the same word twice put a different keyword in between the two)

  • Meta description

  • Alter your URL and insert your main keywords

  • Heading tags H1, H2, H3 (pages with large headings indicate the importance of the content)

  • Alt tags in images (write your keyword phrase fallowed by the word image)

  • Introductory sentence (place your keyword in firs 25 words of your post or page)

  • Concluding paragraph (place your keyword in last 25 words of your text)

  • Valuable constant (Google will look for a value that you provide with your constant)

  • Anchor text (text you hyperlink to other related pages on your site)

Ignore keyword stuffing by putting couple of strategically placed keywords that will do the trick and seem natural. Don’t over do it by stuffing your content with keyword on every corner. Not only that Google doesn’t like that but your readers will have hard time reading your content.

Meta description

Meta description is data or an attribute of HTML that provides brief summery of what your post is about. It comes up below your title on a Google search page and gives more information, than your title, on what your constant is about. Google gives you 160 characters to do that and you should use up all of them because it tells Google that your post is valuable.

You should write a description including your keywords and make sure it is compelling enough so that searchers will want to click on your post.

Optimize your images

When you are uploading photos to your website, don’t skip the description tag. It is terrible for your websites SEO if you post a beautiful image, relevant to your constant with description IMAGE_ 2751645. It is very important to write a specific description because google can’t see the image so you will have to describe what’s on it by including keywords that are relevant to your content.

Simply write specific description with maximum of 125 characters using your keyword phrases but not repeating them over and over again to avoid keyword density.

When inserting images to your post make sure that you don’t break the left reading line. Always place images in the middle or on the right side of the post. Google reads from left to right and from top down so you don’t want anything to stand in the way of google discovering your amazing content.

Internal Linking

Search engines love links! Internal linking is when you create a link that will point to other posts or pages on your website. The more internal links you have, the longer you will keep your readers on your website. It is very important to find ways to create internal link structure. This will also help google bot while checking your site.

How does it work? When one post or page links to another one it gives some credibility to that post or page increasing the possibility that the other one will rank. That doesn’t mean that you will increase the ranking of the overall website.

Internal linking is a great way of keeping your site alive as you can link to your old posts from your new posts.

Importance of quality content

Google loves good quality constant that cover topics in great detail and provides great value. What Google considers good quality content is good information that can be presented to searchers. You just have to focus on answering all the questions your readers might have.

It is important to make content of high quality with useful information. Doing that might not help your ranking right away, but you will definitely see a positive effect on your SEO in the long run.

Ranking number one in Google will take some time and effort but it will be possible if you start implementing the on-page optimization tactics above. You will never fail if you don’t lose patience and give up, like most people do. Techniques are relevant but persistence is key! Good luck!
